An item on ebay triggered a memory of an old piece of literature I had acquired years ago. It is the catalog from the 1951 Museum of Modern Art "8 automobiles" special exhibition.
This show was titled "An exhibition concerned with the esthetics of motorcar design".
Each of the 8 vehicles was choosen primarily for their excellence as works of art, but no automobile was considered unless its mechanical performance met the highest technological standards.
Among the 8 is an M38! Its among quite a list of exceptional automobles to say the least.
In my photo section (gary keating) at the end on the second page I have included 3 photos of this catalog. One listing the 8 vehicles in the show, the second a picture of alot of M38's (which should also help in answering the windshield rubber seal question!), and the third the catalogs written article on the Jeep.
