M38A1 E- brake Noise

Post by jeeper »

My M38A1 E-brake is making a racket. The noise stops when the brake is applied. Is there a fix?

In service, we used to run a small spring from the cotter pin of the clevis pin to the transfer case.

Mine is starting to make the same noise...I guess it's time to crawl underneath.

The alternative to adding springs to stop the jingle of worn parts is to either buy new parts or refurbish the old parts by reaming and bushing all joints for a tighter fit.
