I'm looking for a photo of what holes on the dash are correct at the steering wheel location on the M38. Anyone have a photo of yours
This is my dash right now.

Ken,

Someone can correct me if I am wrong but the holes with the arrows I added are the ones that need to go.

The lower left arrow is pointing to the small hole just to the left of the bigger hole.

Darn,

I don't understand that. It works for several hours and then mypicgallery says it is gone.

I put it in a different format so maybe this will work.

Thanks, Ryan. I am just now getting your reply after you fixed it. I have to figure out how I am going to cover them up now, especially the bigger one. I have gas wire fed mig welder. I think I can put a sheet metal plug in it and close it up. Thanks

Ken,

That's how I would fill those bigger holes too.

Remember that that lower left arrow is pointing to the smaller hole next to the bigger hole. The smaller hole is the one to fill.

Hi, I am not an experienced welder but with my MEG, I was able to close large holes on my new M38 firewall using 'fender-washers' readily available at our local hardware stores. Same deal as you have been doing and that is find one as the the right size as possible, modify as necessary with grinder, and tack at several places, then slowly close. The small hole in the center is easily closed; I used a sheet of brass behind mine. Good Luck. Semper Fi Ben BTW I had the extra holes, 3 as I remember as the new floor which included the firewall was for the later M38 and I wanted to close the extra ones stamped for a heater.
