Do you know if a WW2 tub will fit on a M38 frame and do you know if that will look good or not I don't know what to do buy a tub from WW2 or a M38 tub

Hi Eric,

Fiting a MB tub on M38 frame need some works. The T90 transmission is the first problem because the floor of the MB body is builted to clear the T84 cover and shifter. Also, the MB body has a fuel tank sump under the driver side. You must cut one of the frame brakets to cleared this sump. Also, if you keeping your M38 in 24 volts, you must finding a place for the second battery.

Here is a picture of my M38CDN and I found this jeep as is. It's all match number and only the holes besides the hood were be filled by the previous owner. The seat canvas are not original too. One of my dream is having a Chevy G506 (cargo bed 7107 or 7117) and this jeep is available to sell or swap for this truck

use a M38 tub, your jeep will remain it's value, you can always start with a selfmade wiring and ignition and change it lateron with the original.

At the moment me and my son are restoring a 1942 GPW, and indeed there are a lof of differences between our restored M38 in 2005

I agree what Erik said. Also, M38 deserve to be a M38. It's a solid and reliable jeep with a specific soul. If you rebuilt a jeep salad, never you'll be enjoying the advantages of a M38 or a MB.
