Setting the float

Hi Guys,

My carb is just about rebuilt and I am getting ready to set the float. Right now the float measurement is 1/2in, measured by holding the air horn upside down and just letting the weight of the float rest on the needle.

SO I have to bend the float down until it measures 1/4in. correct? In the manual it says to bend the lip of the float, what exactly is the lip? Is it the horizontal piece of metal soldered to the float? Or is it the little tang that touches the needle? I could use the expertise. Thanks.

Regards,

Paul

Float travel adjustment is done GENTLY at the tang. Are you using the copy of the Carb Overhaul manual (TM 9-18268A) YS series section stored on our web site?
