Need Brake Info...

I have found that my local parts vendor sold me brake shoes for a M-38A1 with 11" drums... however my M-38CDN has the original 9" drums... 
This causes only the ends of the shoes to wear and limits the stopping power greatly...
I have purchased 2 sets of shoes and am planning on replacing the brakes, not really a problem except that I have misplaced my manual and do not know what the correct clearance is for the shoes and drums... I think it is .020" or such...
Could someone with the manuals please post the correct tolerance I would be gratefull...
