Should the Autolite generator bearings be oiled?

I have checked the basic manuals, and the Autolite info on this site and its file storage site, and I have been unable to find a reference about oiling the Autolite generator's front bearings. In the parts breakdown it shows an oil slinger forward of the bearings, and a plug just below the pulley on the forward cover. I'm getting ready to install the generator and wanted to know if I should be adding oil. Thanks for any help.

The bearing is packed half full of grease. The felt washer is soaked in oil and then squeezed to remove excess. The oil reservoir below the oil thrower is service at the end of the rebuild with 1 tablespoon (0.4 Oz.) of preservative oil. That is on page 116 of TM 9-1825B Paragraph 33m.

Couldn't ask for a more detailed and definitive answer than that! Thanks very much Wes!

Thanks again Wes. That's the one storage site I didn't have on my "favorites" list.

I've locked it in now. Thanks for passing it along. It's going to be very helpful as I work on this generator.
