What are your experiences on getting a working horn? I have all the parts, new replacements ,but the rubber is so stiff that the horn switch would be depressed all the time. What have you guys done for the rubber buttons? Where did you get it? DOES it work???
Thanks DJ

I got a replacement horn button from Midwest
Military. Works fine. Since the horn rod was a bit
short, and it's a fun job adjusting at the bottom
end, I put an empty .38 pistol cartridge case on
top, under the button, and it works great. Gives
more area to push on also.

While saving up for a replacement horn switch
from Midwest, I painted a doorbell switch OD and
mounted it under the steering column with black
cable ties, running a "jumper" wire to the horn
wiring. It was unobtrusive and worked just fine. It
might save you drilling holes in the dash, and is
an easy reach from the wheel. The switch was
rectangular, about 2 inches or so long, and came
from Wal Mart. The wire was common zip lamp
cord.
