Guys,

I have just purchased a 1952 M38. the frame and drivetrain appear to be very solid. The body, wiring, and ancillary attachments are far from good shape. I need to purchase a new tub or body kit. Can anyone tell me if a CJ3A kit would fit my frame?

Yes a 3A kit tub can be made to fit the M38 frame but why? They're priced about the same and the M38 tub will increase the value of your M38 whereas the 3A tub will decrease the value of your M38.

Thanks, wesk

My thinking was that it would be difficult to find all of the bolt ons for the M38, but the 3A would be easiir. Do you think that is true?

There were 130,000 or so CJ3A's built and 62,000 M38's. So yes the 3A items would probably be easier to find. But you still have the issue of which jeep has more value. The M38 wins hands down. The CJ3A comes in a distant 3rd. A hermaphrodite made from 2 or more models doesn't even register on the scale.
