Is the fuel getting to the carb?

Check your line

Timing off?

Spark plug wired going to the right spark plugs

Get the TM military manuals listed for the vehicle. There is a list of them on the downloads section.

It tells you how to trouble shoot etc.

That is where I would start. We need more information to get you on the right track.

The proper and most expedient way to determine the cause of any problem is to use a systematic approach to troubleshooting. The TM 9-804 (early M38 Maintenance manual) and TM 9-8012 (Late M38 maintenance manual) both offer very large and detailed step by step troubleshooting charts. You just need to settle down and start with the section of the chart that applies to your problem and do each item in it's correct order and you will most certainly determine the cause of your problem.

The approach we see most often on these web sites are the Shotgun Approach which leads to a lot of hopping around from one system to another and a lot of wasted time and money on both labor and un-needed parts.

Do yourself a favor and get into the manual. If you come across a procedure you don't understand then come here and ask for an explanation but stay with the book's flow.

If you do not have the manuals for your jeep it is now time to get smart and get them. In the interim I have the troubleshooting sections loaded on my photo site:

Now suppose you are at step B 7 . If you suspect no fuel at the carb then you immediately go to page 78 para 79a Fuel Not Reaching Carb and complete steps a(1), (2) & (3). Go to the sections you need to but keep track of where you have been, where you have gone and where you need to go back to to stay in sequence.
