I pulled out the batterys and replaced the cables. While doing this, I had to stop and make a bike repair for my daughter and lost my consentration. 24 volt is new to me, so ...am I actuly hooking a positive from the first battery to the ground of the second battery?

Please let me know.

thats right scott, negative on one hooks to the positive on the other creating a series (24v)
