Leaf Springs

I have 53 M38A1, one of the rear springs are diffrent than the other three,it has same number of leafs, but three other springs have a grove down the centre of each leaf, I order new springs but they came with no grove,I was told they never seen this before. Can anyone tell what kind of spring should be on this vehicle. Grove or not?

The springs with the groove were replacement type for the M38 and early M38A1.

I don't know as much about M38A1 springs, but I thought some time during production, they used the grooved springs.

I could be wrong so anyone with more info on M38A1's feel free to step in.
