I need help identifying these unit numbers on my M38A1.
The hood number is 20996550
Right bumperette is A III
Left bumper pic is included for help with deciphering.
It also has an arctic top with plywood doors. I need information on restoration of the Top.
Thanks

The bottom photo of the bumperette appears to say USAR
That would be U.S. Army Reserve. I am sure there are other acronyms.

Thanks Ryan, That's what we wondered. Does the A III mean airborne?
I just got the Jeep and need to get it running, brakes, and floorboard repair.

Thanks David,
The M38A1 is a 1955, and I lost the pictures this morning when the computer crashed. We had to restore it, so more pictrures soon, and on the posts when I learn how to do it from my son. I will need information on the artic top as it is not attached and I will need to rebuild the doors.
A friend said that USAR is probably US army reserve and A 111 is Alpha Corps 111 Infantry Division.
Thanks , Dave

The A 111 is the unit assigned bumper number. Could be A company, a battery, etc. Probably 1st platoon, 11th vehicle. As for the USAR, that is correct as US Army Reserves. Without the bottom ID, It is hard to say where it was actually from. Try this link for very good marking information.
