Hi, i use my m38a1 sometimes for offroad. Sometimes i go through deep water with it. Deep water here means: the whole wheels are under water. I have no fording kit. So here is my question: When i drive through the water, Do i have to pull the "deep fording cable" or not?

Thanks

I would think that if your wheels are completely under water then the bell housing/clutch and transmission and transfercase are probably partialy submerged if not completely submerged. Even though you may not go deep enough to cover the intake to the carburetor, You should install the plug in the bell housing The purpose of the fording setup was to keep water from getting into those systems. If you consistently are active in taking the vehicle into the water you should do preventative maintenace on the wheel bearings, differentials and probably the steering knuckles also.
