crank pully timing mark - notch instead of hole?

Post by TomM »

M38 Crankshaft pully - I have a double pully that does not have a hole for timing. It might be an early pully but it has a V notch that looks like it was made by a machine.
I dont have another pully to compare the location of the timing hole vs the V notch.
Did any M38 pullys have a notch for timing?

The V notch was an M38A1 part with the pointer, also field modification for the M38.

Depending on how original you are wanting to go, you could fill the notch and then drill a hole in the pulley.
