Carburetor ID tag

Post by TomM »

What were the ID letters stamped on the original M38 YS carb IT tag that is shown in the manuals.
This is the little thin aluminum triangular carb tag that is attached to one of the bowl screws.
Picture of an original?

My jeep has a CSMS tag stamped and similar to what you describe. That indicates when the carb went through maintenance or rebuild at the local Army CSMS. I'm sure Wes or Ryan could shed more light on that for you though.

Hello Tom,
I've been hunting for a file photo I had which closeups the tag on an NOS carb. The one you linked is the correct shape and style but the nomenclature on it is for the 636 series WO only.
