Air Cleaner Asembly

Took the Air cleaner Assembly off today and broke it down as seen in the pictures below. Anyone with exprience rebuilding these see any problems with the original parts? For the most part they look to be in decent shape minus some rust.
The cap and element are in the worst shap, the cap is fairly rusted and the element still have a lot of stuff stuck in it, and the filler material is rusted at the top. The inside of the retainer is a bit rusty but fixable I think.
Took em off and sprayed it all down with some carb cleaner. Next step is to clean all the rust off, what works best with parts like this -get em sandblasted with the tub and frame, or a chemical bath?
