Felpro head gasket

I just installed a felpro head gasket from Autozone. Forgot to get one from Debella when I placed an order. Needless to say, Peters parts were there the following day and the next day delivery from Autozone took a week. The gasket was in two parts, regular head gasket material on the head side and a separate steel piece on the block side. I have never used a gasket that was like this, it fit nice but I have a fluid bubble form after the second time I started her up. Has anyone used this type of head gasket?

Get Castle CopperHead Part#1613 from NAPA. Your head gasket should work fine. The copper gasket compound will super seal to prevent water jacket leaks. I have used it on my GPW and on my big 6 cyl Halftrack engine, and they have a reputation about water jacket leaks, and it solved that problem. The copper stuff works a lot better than the old Permatex, make sure the holes are right, and torque to specs, run till warm for a while, let it cool, and retorque. Useing copper stuff, wear latex gloves too.

And the size of this bubble was? and how many of these bubbles were there? Did this or these bubbles appear in the coolant in the radiator?

A head removal will result in several opportunities for trapped air in the coolant. This is almost unavoidable even if you do make the extra effort to bleed the coolant system This will produce occasional bubble for awhile. A leaking head gasket will generate a steady flow of bubbles.

The leak is where the head and block meet at the gasket. One tiny buble of coolant keep forming in one area only. No coolant in oil.

Are all the head bolt or stud threads in the block sealed with permatex? If not the leak could be from a bolt instead of the head gasket. Since you disturbed these bolts or studs during the head removal and installation you must reseal the threads.

I have not retouqued the head warm yet. I will try that on friday. If that does not work I will reseal the studs. Its not even a drip, just moisture.
