the serial number plate in the engine compartment says CJV-35 10638
can any one tell me what it is and how old it is? Thanks.

It's one unit (the 638th one) from a 1000 unit production run done in the early spring of 1950 for a Navy contract for 1000 USMC radio jeeps based on the standard CJ3A but using a PTO driven 12V generator for radio power and having a water proof ignition and improved deep water fording capability.CJV-35 10638
