Hi Guys,

I had my water pump rebuilt. There was a clip sticking out of the slot cut in the pump housing on the left side when facing the pump, and it fell out as I was cleaning it for painting. Is it necessary for the pump to function correctly? Or can I just go ahead and install it? Thanks again.

That clip is a "C" clip spring type and should have fit in that slot tightly. Something is not right. That keeps the bearing in place.
