Brake Question...

Post by OKCM38CDN »

I particpated in an Armed Forces day parade today and noticed the brakes on my M-38CDN were very hard to press... I have brakes, it is just that the brake pedal is hard to press down and almost no play...

Has anyone seen this before...

I have parked the jeep at my storage location and will look at it closer later on when I have a weekend free to do so. (Plans already in place for the rest of the weekend)

Comments welcome, looking for ideas to check...

Thanks in advance...

I have the same problem. Stops reall well but somewhat hard to press. I found playing the the linkage helped some.

Hal,

I would play with the brake pedal rod that pressed onto the master cylinder or you have your brake pads adjusted very close to the drum?

My 2 cents and I am not a master mechanic.

Thanks for the replies,

Will look at the pads next time I have it home... I did do some adjusting on them a month or so, but they were working fine then...

The Ozark Convoy had lots of steep hills and really worked them good...
