This may be a commonsense response to this question: The speedometer cable looks like it's non-directional. Is it? Both ends look similar and I don't remember seeing anything in my TM regarding installing a new one with the right direction. But I wanted to verify with the experts here. Thanks.

I answered my own question: One end is smaller than the other and they clearly fit on different locations. Guess I should have looked closer.
