There is a ton of info. on the tools, jacks, wrenches for MB/ GPW. What did the '52 M38A1 use? Is there a posting and pictures of these items somewhere? Thanks, John

First off the WWII jeeps came from the factory with well documented tool kits. Also the WWII researchers had access to all military contract data that can be found nowhere for the post WWII MV's.

A basic tire changing tool kit was included with the M series jeeps. All other tool kits were procured seperately by the service that possessed the jeep and these kits were usually only signed out to the operator when the jeep left the immediate service area of the servicing motor pool.

The ORD 7 SNL G-758 and the ORD 8 SNL G-758 list all applicable tools but remember only those identified as supplied from factory or came with vehicle were on the jeep when delivered.

The two pages above were procured and stocked by the Army and maintained in the jeep.

The two pages above would be procured stocked by the Army and were authorized at the user's organizational motor pool level.

As usual Wes, great info. I see handles and jacks for sale, but have no pictures of the correct stuff. Pictures are worth a 1000 words. I'd love to see a picture of a M38A1 presented for military inspection with all of its stuff laid out. I understand they were equiped for each unit as required. I hope to find a reference like the All American Wonder for the M38A1 some day. Hint: You guys with the knowledge could capitalize here! Knowledge is expensive!!! I've learned this many times. Thanks for the resonse! John
