My box has the original drain hose (one) that drops down from the box to the ground on the passenger side behind the rear wheel well front. It enters the box under the battery base holders which (had) a spigot or tube in each base. How does one hook up the two to one drain? Heater hose and a T ????? My TM has no info here and I don't have any illustations. Wes, I need you to look in your deep well of knowledge again buddy! John

Thanks Wes, I don't have the parts TM ord 9 , I'll have to look for one. Are those parts hard to get? I'll bet they form some pretty sharp 90's in that limited area. Any suppliers to try? John

Well now you just click on the download section at the top of this page and then click on the M38/M38A1 section then click on the G758 Ord manual and download it free.

If you can't find the original parts, a few PVC pipe fittings and rubber tubing will make the tray drains and get you to the hole in the firewall for the long drain tube. That's the way I did it.

Thanks for that info.! You won't see them under all that stuff anyway. Did you face the holes so thay are close together in the middle or between the bottom battery trays? My drain tubes were literally gone and I didn't notice the drain points until they were out of the Jeep. John

To do it right you'll need the drain holes to face each other in the middle.





I would use clear vinyl tubing instead of opaque rubber hose and use the appropriate size grommets for the vinyl tubing. Then I would use a plastic vacuum system type "T" to bring them together for the overboard tube run. Makes it easy to see if they are plugged up.

If you shop around for those automtotive heater blower electric motor rubber vent tubes you can find them with a 90 degree turn right out of the box and they'll fit the large holes in the box. I would use them on the lower pan of the battery box to direct any over flow away from the interior floor.

Thanks for that info. With juice batterys I think the drains are needed after seeing what sulfuric acid does to the floors. I have to fix that mess too. The clear vinal will stand up to acid well. If the fit is right, a short piece of clear into a plastic elbow at the box spigot, then to the plastic T and then out may be the way I'll try and go. The totally sealed orbital NAPA batterys are nice to keep cables and things clean. If they were smaller, you wouldn't need any plumbing. A friend has a shirt with a beaver sitting on his log dam on the front. The caption says: "Just one dam project after another"! John
