I just inherited an old jeep that had been used at my uncle's ranch for years. I have looked on the web for ways to help me identify the jeep. I cannot find any tags in the places where they are suppose to be. the jeep has a four cyclinder engine with jeep stamped on it. It does run but the brakes do not work so it will not stop. It will go into four wheel drive and seem to be mechanically sound. Is it ok to post photos and ask for help in identifying the jeep so i can try to fix it up so it is drivable. Thanks for the help

Congrats on your new "find". The brakes not working is typical but they are fairly simple to fix/upgrade. Posting pics is a good way of getting comments and help from other contributors to the site - get shots from all sides. Another pictoral source of Jeep history can be found at: http://www.film.queensu.ca/CJ3B/Poster.html
Details and specs on the various models, military and civilian.
Good luck with your Jeep!

Start with a full view photo of the dash. Then a full flat view of each of the four sides. Then a top center, left and right view of the engine installation. Finally a full view of the interior from the front above the windshield and from the rear above the rear panel/tail gate.
