So, two more months until I get to work on my M38A1! When I bought it last DEC, I really didnt get any backround on it but Im sure the springs are stock and ready to be changed out. Right now, the body is off and I was working on the frame and engine before I left home.
I want to put a 31x10.5 tires on but Im not sure if I need a lift spring set, like a 2.5" lift or if an aftermarket stock set will work. No rubbing!
Any help is apprectiated

Thanks,
Mike :D

30x10-15 are generally the limit with stock suspension, stock wheel off set and the width available in the rear wheel house and front fenders.

1.5 to 2.5" lifts help a little for larger tires but you end up having to use radical wheel offsets and still will get contact issues in heavy travel situations in the real wheel house and on full turns at the inner front fenders.

I just got done returning my a1 to stock. The PO put a 2" lift and the cheap shackles would swing back and forth and contributed to the death wobble. The stock shackles and spring packs are much more solid and my problem is gone.

All I'm saying is be careful as you may introduce other problems.
