Center Exhaust Pipe

How can I tell the difference between an M38 and M38A1 center exhaust pipe? I have a stack of center exhaust pipes that are all the same. Some are NOS and I was hoping to use one on my M38. Also, are the fording exhaust pipes the same for the M38 and M38A1?
