Millers Book and Data Plates

Just got Ryan Millers book on the M38. Great Job Mr. Miller!!! Learn more in an hour with your book than with most others.

Since I'm only a couple of months into owning my 1952 m38 jeep (or any military vehicle for that matter), I have about a million more questions, so please forgive me.

My jeep has the round cut-out for a heater in the dash. I thought the previous owner had cut that out to install a heater. I was glad to see in Miller's book that the hole was original and there's an actual picture of the dash.

My question is what is the data plate configuration to cover the hole or is there a back plate to cover it? I could not find any pictures of jeeps with the hole being covered up by the plates.

Thanks
Dano

I also have Mr. Miller's Book. Fantastic resource!
As to the data plates, several vendors sell a cover
plate which all the data plates attach to and is then
installed over the hole.

Early dash without hole and plates each screw seperately to the dash.

Late dash with hole and plates all fasten to a group mounting plate which is then mounted to dash.
