Hi hope someone can help there is a clamp on my speedo cable but i am unsure where it screws to. Also doe's anybody have any photo's of the fuel line and clamps under the body also i need to find out the length of the pipe. Thanks

Here are two photos of the speedometer clamp and screw on my M38. As you can tell from the photos the clamp is held with that screw along the inside of the right side frame. Hope this helps.

Missing my speedo cable clamp, trying to find out where it mounts on the right side M38 frame rail. I have a likely hole in the bottom edge of the rail about half way but it's for a 1/4-inch screw not the #10 the ORD9 calls for.

Research hasn't turned up anything so far --- except this old post. I even looked in Kendall's album for the original photos he posted above and they aren't there either.

Any assistance appreciated!

I have two holes in that location, one the 1/4 size and one a little larger.

Checked the manuals for a pic but no luck.

I can. Folks are busy.........either that or maybe the answer is so obvious that I'm missing it right in front of me and everyone is just being patient with a rookie

The good news is there's two likely holes for the clamp.....50-50 odds. I'll flip a coin. Should I ever stumble on hard evidence it's nothing I can't fix. Note to self: make log entry.

There sure are a lot of "lost" photos because of the photo-bucket fiasco isn't there? Makes researching hard having to re-tread the same ground over again.

Nope, no tear down photos. I bought it that way. The previous owner did all the heavy lifting on it, which was what I was looking for. No way for me to do that kind of thing in a residential neighborhood garage, at least not without ticking off the neighbors and/or causing a divorce. Oh well, one out of two ain't bad

It's one of the reasons why I really appreciate this site so much!

The for hire photo storage outfits require you to segregate your photos either private or public. Only a public photo can be added to a link on another web site. In addition my experience with these hosting sites is they download very slow.

I really do not understand why folks do not just use our web site's photo album.

As to a good photo existing today showing the gospel original mounting I don't think you will find one. I reviewed all the photos in the manuals (TM9-804, TM 9-8012, TM 9-1804A, & TM 9-1804B) and found only three illustrations that address the cable's routing near the frame .

TM 9-8012 Figure 36 shows the cable both forward and aft of the engine rear crossmember but the center of this part of the cable run is not viewable!



The two illustrations in TM 9-1804A are even less usefull:





The only reliable source for an answer is the factory blueprint.

Any recent photos will only depict the choice made by the owner.
