Pedal play with clutch wear ?

In the last 2 weeks I have had to adjust the clutch because the free play got larger--I set it for 1.5 inch and again it is now closer to 3 inches. Doesn't the free play decrease with wear? What the !!

Try this check and probably replace the what I call the bellcrank{ tube with the tabs with the holes in it and the rod with the 90 degree bends at the ends} what happens is this will wear the rod down to almost half and elongate the holes in the bellcrank. You would think it needs a new clutch but thats not the case.

My jeep tried to tell me there was a problem when the free play got larger but I did not listen! My last ride of the season today--it was 32 degrees this morning in Minnesota-- the clutch rod that was cracked and bending open finally broke and left me on the road side ! Luckly I live near Midwest Military and John had a clutch rod in stock. Listen when she talks to you.
