A Question about my Tub

Post by Cacti_Ken »

I recently finished painting the tub. I did not notice this before, but on the driver side where the fender bolts on it is kicked in 1/2", where the passinger side is virtually straight. I put a link for you to view the photos below. I would like to know if they are suppose to be this way. What do you all think?

 Hmmmm..... Wes, from that answer, are you telling me that the side which is kicked in some is abnormal? I hate reading between the lines to get the message.

Yep, that looks like the only side the arm and hammer adjusted. Lot's of folks are just plain lazy. Rather then loosen all the tub bolts up to help make the fender lineup correctly they just get the BFH and align the offending part.

Ken,
Try the fender fit first. You might have to leave her that way.

Ken, I have the same problem with the M38 tub that came on my '47 CJ2A . . . I'm not quite as far along, having only the primer on the tub, but it looks like I may have to live with the same thing . . . . you might check with a body shop to see if they can bend it without messing up the paint.
