One of the last things we did in our restoration was to install two new Wagner head lights. Last week during an early morning drive, I turned the head lights on for safety. They were both on. But, when I returned home about an hour later, my driver's side low beam was burned out. Stepping on the dimmer to turn on the brights, they both went on to high beam.

As a note, before the restoration the original driver's side head light was bad, prompting the installation of the new replacements. Any ideas why a head light would burn out so fast?.

Does the bulb mount firmly in the housing? If it rattles the filament will break. Is the bulb indexed properly in the Housing? Is your generator output withing limits? 27.5 to 28.5 at cruise RPM. More than 28.5 will cook lamps early.

My brother-in-law blew both in his Jeep when the voltage regulator stuck full on. Lights were great for a short while! You didn't get a 12 volt bulb by mistake did you? They make them with the douglas connectors! Ground wire good? Just some thoughts, new does not always mean good either. Hope my new wagner holds! John
