New find Boat engine.

I found a Willys boat motor It has a "F" script GPW6050 head and a block casting 641087-L-W11A NC-CR-N2. The block has a RMC20620 stamp. What do you think? Come on Let me hear it. I have pics posted in the members gallery. Last page. Thanks.

Well I don't know nuttin about nuttin.....but if it were my engine......I'd be darn proud to say I got it for only $300. Got that in uniqueness alone.......and just imagine the fun you're going to have building a boat around the thing. How do you guys find this stuff.......I have troubles just finding common things like seat frames and slip yoke collars. Good luck and congratulations on your discovery.

Once you are in an "eat, sleep & drink Jeep" mode the finding comes easy.

The jeep Dauntless V6 engine line had a model designed for boats. I think the boat folks probably bought aftermarket kits to set a stock L or F 134 in a boat. The L134 listed here is of course an MC or M38 engine with a GPW head.

Wes has that right, stuff now finds you when you get too deep into this. I recently got a GPW block with CJ2A head, starter, generator, Truck column shift steering gear and side shift T90 that was being tossed.

But while picking it all up I found it was owned by the guy who is now caretaker to a vehicle that I have been searching out for 20 years.

On this Veterans day check out page 7 in this newsletter - we have unearthed the Rhode Island 40/8 chapter train!

I found that very odd that a guy from Rhode Island had to go to a garage in Bradford PA to find a train the Bradford folks have been searching for 20 years!

I just re-read that article this morning and realized that they know where the Bradford train is. I gotta see it.

Most people don't even remember what the 40/8 is let alone realize that they all had these trains.
The RI one is pretty impressive built in '46 on an old F600 style chassis and its all stainless steel skinned.
The 50's V8 is probably dead the rest is going to live again.

I've also visited a couple of state 40/8 box cars. A neighbor rode for a week "somewhere in France" in one during '44. People were different then.

Are you going to pull cooling water from the ocean or Lake or build a closed system? Ocean water can eat an engine up.

No Sir. I'm going to take it all apart and use it for my 52 M38. As for the GPW head, I'm hoping the guys on the G503 might have a head for an M38 to trade. The rest of the boat stuff I'll put on Ebay. Hopefully get some money back.
