1) wire harness clip to inner fender
2) brake lines to frame
3) wire harnes to lower lip of frame

Thanks. Would you happen to have a pic of the clip that is used to secure the fuel line to the frame and cross member?

Note that the center type clip in your photo is used for both brake and fuel lines, but the fuel line clip is larger to accomodate the larger diameter of the fuel line.

Jim, it's looks the same but the diameter on the clip is larger.

I'm running my brake lines now and another thing to note is I believe the round part of the clip faces down when mounted to the frame. Also, there are three clips that plug into the holes on the frame (for the line running to the back and one clip for the line running to the front from the MS.

Don't strong arm or try to bend them with plyers. They break easily at the sharp bend.

To add a dumb question to this topic but when the brake line drops into the clip, what is the position of the strip of metal that flaps over the brake line? Is it supposed to be centered atop the brake line?

Well....now I'm confused. My reason for asking about these clips is because these are the only kinds I found existing on this jeep and none of them seem to be appropriate for use on the fuel line.

I can see the middle style clip working along the front crossmember but its the three located along the frame that have me puzzled. Here's a page from the manual....

I just don;t see how any of the clips I have are going to end up looking like the picture.

Hi Jim.

That picture you posted is just for the fuel line. The brake line is shown in Chapter 4 of the 980152 and the clips look identical except the radius is smaller than that of the fuel line clips. The brake line clips will be running up the same side as the master cyl. There are three holes in the frame where you plug the clip into for the line running to the rear and one for the line running to the front. Are we talking A1 here? I'm not sure if there is a difference.

Jim, here's an image to help out. This is assuming I installed things correctly :? I circled where the clip goes. You should see a 1/4 hole in your frame at that point.

Thanks for the pic and the info. What I'm looking for is info on supporting the fuel line along the passenger side of the frame.....the three clips labelled "D" in the last pic I posted. It looks like the fuel line is supported from the top inside edge of the frame but I had no clips there when I tore into this jeep. Here's why.....note the location of my old fuel line.....supported by such things as the transfer case....regulator mount....and crankshaft pully shield:
Image
Are these clips simple loops attached to the frame with screws and nuts....or are they something more ellaborate.....or does somebody have a good picture of this area showing the clips installed? Thanks.
Jim

You are in luck Jim. I have a picture I took of my frame during tear down. It has three clips in one photo and it not of my typical crappy quality.

I went back through my before pictures....and look what I found lurking in a couple of shots....
Image
and this one that shows where the clip used to be in the crossmember...
Image
and, of course, the "primary support method" used by this jeep's previous owner for everything....baling wire
Image
holding the elbow to the frame at the location where the fuel line should have come up to the tank under the driver's seat.

So.....right or wrong...at least I know where two of my clips go and what they look like. Now all I need is a good look at one of the frame side clips.
