I have an NOS center exhaust pipe that I would like to use on my M38. I am pretty sure that it is an M38A1 pipe though. Here are my questions.
1. Is there a difference between M38, M38A1, and M170 center exhaust pipes?
2. What are the lengths?
3. Does any one have reference pictures of M38, M38A1, and M170 center exhaust pipes? I have a reproduction exhaust pipe for my M38 but it is a really cheap China-man version and would prefer not to use it.
4. If there is a difference, can I just heat, cut, bend, etc the A1 pipe to make it fit without butchering it to bad?
Thanks,
Dave

Center Exhaust Pipe
Based on your description, It must be an M38A1 pipe. It still has a bit of cosmo on it and the bracket is still attached. It's definitely not an M170 pipe. The repro pipe I have looks a little bit shorter. I may just spring for one of the MWM reproductions.
