Really Good Tip

Post by sonny »

Got a really good tip from John at Midwest Military - my crankshaft nut was ruined by someone with what looks like a pipe wrench - no way to get a socket on it. Figured I would have to cut it off but fear of damaging the threads kept me from jumping right on it. Was ordering a new nut and just happened to ask John about my problem. He suggested welding a large washer on to the old nut and then weld a large nut to the washer and spin it off. Worked great. Most of you may already know this tip but it sure saved me alot of work and of course no damage to the crankshaft threads. Thanks John - Sonny
