Has anyone else dealt with enough RUST to last them a lifetime. After about ten trips to the sand blaster… I have. Next time, a bigger air compressor and a blast cabinet.



I thought getting the engine and chassis rolling was going to be the hard part. Well it was not as time consuming as the body has been. We installed a nos firewall and floor pan, (sure got rid of a bunch of sins), rear valance panel, rear tail light panels, front floor step, rear body brace under where the side mount spare tire would go and a battery box we cut out of another scrap jeep and about 2’ x 4’ of sheet steel we bent up to make patch panels. It’s been fun and even more so when the weather gets nice and we’re driving these. Next time pics of the scrap metal pile in the back yard.





I just noticed Ryan’s book in one of the photos. I refer to it multiple times daily. It sure has been a big help…Jeff

This was my rusty tub!

I haven't even thought about my tub yet. I am affraid to even look. Nice work on those Jeeps. That's the way the garage should look.

It looks like you took care of that nasty rust did you buy or make your own hat channel and did you put wood back into them.

I think you were talking to me, we bought a new old stock firewall and floor pan all in one piece and it had the hat channels already installed on the bottom, just like it came from the factory. Yes it has wood in it. Once we got the old firewall and pan cut out. The new one fit like a glove. Here is a pic with the old floor cut out with step fitted and before sand blasting
