A White M38 ?

It was a nice day to work on my tub and looking at the many
coats of paint,there is a coat of white paint over the original
OD. Did any service use white M38s??

I think the navy had some beach patrol jeeps that were white. Not sure if they used the M38 though.

I stripped my hood looking for the numbers and someone sanded most of the original paint off to the primer and layed down the white.
The body and fenders have red primer, OD,white, blue, grey, OD and a
form of OD.
Maybe the former owners just sprayed it with what ever they
had a gallon of ?
Civil Defense?

Many vehicles went into Civil Defense programs as surplus and WHITE was a common color? Would expect some CD logos somewhere in that case.

I heard white jeeps were used by the US forestry service after its military duties, the red ones were fire service.

Hello Brian,
In Canada, many M38 served in the United Nations peacekeeping missions since 60 years. All jeeps were painted in white and maybe yours is a former UN. Click here to see some pictures of UN jeeps:
