Pintle hook

Hello all,

My pintle hook on my 51 M38 has a ball hitch as the bottom of the pincher. My question is, was this original, or is this something that a previous owner did to it?

That would be a civilian mod... so he could tow a civilian trailer...

Lot of contractors here have that type of pintle so they can rent trailers and not change hook/ball.

Military only uses straight pintles...
