Anyone interested in helping me with my M38 Experiment. I purchased a 51 in very good physical condition. It is running but not rolling. I am not rebuilding to original condition, but simply trying to get it up and running for the time being. Plan on a ground up restoration in the future.

I have gutted the interior to remove old wood that was laid in over the floorboards. Have rebuilt the carb, added a fuel pump and filter, changed all fluids. Currently working on the transmission. Thought someone out there might be able to help someone with limited knowledge, but lots of motivation. Thought you might be wiling to answer an occasional question through email, or simply provide me with some websites, etc., that will help me with the project.

Good news! As of last night, it is running solid and ready for a rebuilt transmission.

I have a 25 amp AutoLite generator in need of repair. I am searching for a possible repair shop or someone in the North Texas or Oklahoma area who could help me.

A few questions before I can answer yours.

Is you jeep's 24 volt system complete and in tact?
Is your jeep's waterproof harness complete and in tact?
Are you certain the voltage regulator is good?
Are you certain the generator needs repair?

A simple bench check of the generator will determine it's condition. Clamp it on the bench or leave it mounted in the jeep and loosen belts and unplug electrical connector. Get a couple of pins that will fit the pins in the connector on the generator. Crimp or solder two 12 gage wires to them and solder the ends of those two wires together. Now slide those two new wire pins onto pin A & C in the generator connector. Now connect a jumper cable from the + 24 volt post to the soldered end of the two wires. Now connect a jumper cable to the negative post of the 24 volt battery package. Now clamp the free end of the ground jumper to the generator case and it will spin just like an electric motor. If it does the generator is most likely good.

Let us know what you find out.
