I am looking for this manual and the suppliment for download or emailed to me. I am too cheap to pay for it though I will if I have to. I'd rather put another part on my M170. This is the early op & maintenance manual for the M38A1.

You are aware that 804A was an M38A1 only pub published in July 1952 and it's change 1 in April 1953 were both entirely M38A1 with no references to the M170 which was introduced two years later?

Even the April 1955 published TM 9-8014 did not supply complete coverage to the M170 until changes came out later as was the same for TM 9-8015-2 whose later changes added data for the M170.

If you want 804A for a collector's item it is often listed on Ebay in CD for less than $6. Paper copies are very rare and very expensive.

Fire wall grommets

I am looking for locations of firewall grommets and what goes where as far as cables and choke and primer (gas fired heater kit with primer for M38a1) for the m170. I did a search here and this tech manual supposedly has a nice illistration for the M38A1. I can't see pictures on this site if they are linked to another site like webshots or yahoo pics. Its a system thing at work.I can download stuff from here (and some others) and recieve pics on my email address.
I would have this done and installed my dash but I am moving at a snails pace as it is a guessing game with extra holes trying to wing it.

M170 firewall and dash differ from the M38A1 in several ways. The 804A will only confuse the issue using it's early A1 illustrations.

Go to wee be webbing's web site http://www.odcloth.com/1955m170.html and pull up the photos of Pizzo's M170. Photos 5 thru 15 cover the firewall completely. Pizzo's M170 is without doubt one of the best and most often viewed M170 restos. Click on his thumbnails to pull up large copies of the photos.

This is one of his engine compartment photos.

Below is the TM 9-804A illustration of the EARLY M38A1 FIREWALL I suggest you not rely on this illustration for your M170.
