Venting lines

I am missing 3 venting lines on my M38 and trying to locate a line kit.
Midwestmil can get a kit, but he says they have had some problems with getting them to fit. My M38 is an early date MC23945 6/51DOD. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I have not been a member here that long and I am still gathering the information for the data-base question sheet.
Thanks, Rob

Rob,

Have you reviewed Bob Westerman's web site titled M38 vent system? The lines can be fabricated easily by yourself using locally procured tubing and fittings.

Wes,
I have this diagram and it is very well done. My only concern was the material specs as far as getting the copper coated steel lines. He also refers to 2 or 3 of the lines being all copper. I will have to check around and see if I can locate the materials. I have a couple guys within 5 miles of me that also have the "jeep disease" as my lady calls it
Thank You, Rob

You can use 3/16" copper line... you get it at refrigeration supply stores* in 50 ft rolls...

* same place your AC repairman buys his parts to fix your air conditioner.

Rob,

Bob W aslo has the parts list published there with the Weatherhead Part Numbers for the fittings. So finding those at your hardware/auto parts store should not be difficult. Most folks use the appropriate diameter steel tube stock and paint it with copper paint when they are done. The steel tubing is not hard to find. Even though the two vent tubes at the distributor were originally steel the service replacement tube used was copper to make distributor movement for timing adjustments easier. That choice is up to you.
