I have a question about mounting of the antenna bracket SC-C-28592 on the body of the M38A1(Nekaf).
The size of the outside of the body to the seam of the body is 4 17/32" (115mm).
The size of the inside of the antenna bracket to the heart of the holes is 4 5/8"(117,5mm) (6 1/4"-1"-1/8"-1/2" = 4 5/8")
That means the bolt holes in the body reach the seam of the body.
How to solve this problem?

That is the early bracket designed for the M38. This discussion took place on the G503 page a while ago. There was a later version that extended the rear side of the bracket to reach another inch to clear the seam. However many of the older brackets were installed on the M38A1 over the years and can be made to fit with a small amount of distortion by bending the bracket outward so the two holes lay outboard of the seam. . If you are building one from the existing Signal Corp drawings then it would be best to extend the length of the rear side of the bracket.
Here are the illustrations from the G503 discussion.

I have not been able to locate the drawing for the later M38A1 support bracket.
Hi Wes,
Thanks for your detailed response.
A good opinion of you the bracket past the seam, the size 6 1/4" from SC-C-28592 I will change in 6 29/32", so the bracket is wider 21/32".
In the drawing SC-D28621 is the size of the upper body to the heart of the holes 5 1/4". Is that correct for the M38A1?
