With my M38 having a civy engine and an solenoid on the starter, anyone know of a footswitch I could put in to look like a plunger. Current set up b4 I tore into it had a key switch ignition, the floor hole is patched over. I would like to put in the on/off switch in the dash but then have a floor starter button/fake-plunger in the floor.
Thanks

Just use the real one as long as it does not come in contact with anything.

My understanding is that the original plunger connects to the starter and the contacts are at the starter. I don't see how that would work. I want something that is an actual working switch at the floor that puts battery to the starter when pressed with the foot in conjunction with the dash on/off switch. I just saw a MB/GPW switch, that might work.

The M715 has a switch of the type you are looking for.

If you can find an NOS MB switch it will work ok. The repop MB/GPW foot switches are very poor construction and fail quickly.
Since you have a solenoid on the starter and are only using a low current to actuate the solenoid you really do not need the large terminal switches used on the MB/GPW and M715. A simple floor switch found at your parts store should work. None of these type switches will accurately replicate the large steel pedal that originally stuck out of that floor panel.
