Vacuum pump

Post by Cacti_Ken »

If the market ever gets to where it is impossible to get a fuel/vacuum pump rebuilt, is there such a thing as a 12 or 24 volt vacuum pump that could be used in place of the original?

There is in the aviation world. They are used for aircraft vacuum instruments and provide about 5" of suction boost.

For aircraft, I imagine they are pricey too. I wonder how 5" of vac. would do for the wipers.
That brings up an interesting question. I'll have to check how much vacuum my mechanical pump pulls.
