Fender alignment

I finished both of my fenders and bolted them up to the frame (they are the old style fenders that bolt to the frame).

The seam between the body and fender is tapered (should be straight) from bottom to top and if I raise the back of the body with about an inch of cushion it helps close the gap at the top where the fender and body meet. I don't think you are supposed to use that thick of a cusion.

I had to loosen the grill hinges also and other fender and body bolts so everything could move and align.

Am I going about this correctly?

Thanks.

Yes. You can overcome the tall rear spacers by reducing the thickness of the spacers further forward. It can be a real PITA if you are working by yourself and/or do not have a hoist for the tub. You must keep a close eye on full tub alignment to include the critical areas such as steering column/pedals/starter switch actuator and etc.

Sounds like a back breaker. Thanks Wes.
