TM 9-804 M38 operation Pg 168 90 wt gear oil is called out but worm and screw oil is best.

TM 9-8012 M38 operation, TM 9-804A & TM 9-8014 M38A1 operations don't tell you what lube to use.

I do not know where you are located. The best bet for you to find some locally is for you to call or visit your nearest agricultural equipment shop. They'll know what you need and where to get it.

You can also email or call Ramsey Winch company for their choice of modern lubricant's for the 50/50R winch.

Tell them you want a quality "worm and screw" type gear box oil.

Ok wesk,
but when I ask this oil, than gradation he must have?
moreover the winch mounted on the M38A1 is a Ramsey 50/or 50R, but which it is its exact code of acknowledgment?

The winch data plate will tell you it's model number. Also the Model 50 is a 3500 Lb winch and the Model 50R is a 5000 LB winch. If you have no data plate or no Ramsey marking on it then it may well be one of many European built copies.

The copied units we have seen have the GDP on them. I have heard that the company was building them under license from Ramsey but can't find any evidence to support that.
