Brake linings poor quality

Post by Bretto »

Where can I buy quality brake lining replacements? I bought some off an online vendor that sold me Omix-Ada brand and the darn holes in them don't even line up with the steel shoes! Stuff like this I just don't get, they are worthless unless you file the holes to fit.

RockAuto had a good brand that fit well for the M38( Raybetos 76PG)
check the part# to be sure. That is for the shoe and lining, At the
time it was cheaper to replace both.

Do you still have your original shoes as cores? Have them relined by Then And Now Automotive, White Owl or other restoration supply shop.

Yes, I have the original steel shoes. I was able to line them myself.

I used to have a '42 GPW that I would have a Monroe Muffler shop reline the shoes for me.
