On my M38 are some designations of the MP Europe in the 50´s. For this I want to complete my Jeep with the white MP-sign under the windshield (see attached picture). Does anybody know which material for the MP singns was in use? Was it plywood?
At one point I had fixed a metal Military Police sign on my windshield and also had a round metal Military Police sign that was mounted on the spare tire. This was a long time ago and I do not know what I used for my information.

There is a great video about Berlin and CheckPoint Charlie. It covers the early days before the wall and as the years went by till the wall was gone. See the edit.
I remember the the M151's in Berlin and traveled though East Germany from Hamburg. Who would of guessed a few months later it would all be gone?!
I have seen sheet metal and plywood used for these signs. Not sure what was "Official" Also, some vehicles were painted directly.
Hi BullRun,

Apropos, I have an original autograph from Gail Halvorsen too
