Seat Pivot Chains

Post by rwbow1969 »

I was looking in my TM and can't seem to find a good picture of the installation of the passenger seat pivot chains and pins. I just returned from the Aberdeen Rally in Maryland with some small finishing items. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Rob

I would also appreciate knowing this. Mine has (probably not original) simple cotter pins held captive with brass sash chain.

Coincidently I also have a ’51 M38 & M100 (Dunbar), although I'm aware that's not unusual on this forum.

Original chain PN 674418 which the Army used until stock was depleted then used standard Army stock steel chain Stk Num. 42-2244-45-012.

Original pin PN 663472 (Thru MC58631) was superseded by PN 677836 (After MC58631) then the Army required their standard stock cotter pin PN H001-0590169 to be used when all stocks of the other two pins were used up.

Are any pictures of a 63472 in the manuals that can be referenced?
